SALT POOLS
How much salt do I need in my pool?
Pools need about 200 pounds of pool grade salt per 10,000 gallons - about 12-20 bags of salt to start the process.

Typically, the pool will require more salt when the water becomes diluted - after adding fresh water or after a heavy rainfall.
Can I convert my existing pool to a salt cell?
Yes! Switching your pool to salt is a very easy process that can usually be done in under an hour. All that is needed is a salt cell generator, transformer, a sacrificial anode, salt, and 2 chemicals for salt pools: PhosFree & ScaleFree. We offer a few different conversion packages, please call our office for more details!
Will a salt pool require more maintenance?
Typically salt pools are much lower maintenance than a traditional chlorine pool. The salt cell takes care of most of the work sanitizing the pool. We recommend that salt cell users incorporate an algaecide, mineral control, and a cell protect to help maintain a healthy pool.
Will the salt damage my liner?
The ratio of salt in a salt pool is much, much less than that in the ocean. A salt pool is approximately 3500 ppm and the ocean is around 35,000 ppm. Since the salt level is relatively low, it does not cause any additional damage to the liner. Additionally, salt pools utilize a chlorine generator which converts the salt to a low level of chlorine - this may even lengthen the life of a liner.
How do I increase the free chlorine in my salt pool?
Every salt cell is different, but most will have a "boost" option or can manually be adjusted to increase the output. One common misconception people often have about salt pools is that there is no chlorine in your pool. The salt cell generator actually produces the chlorine for your pool. However if your chlorine is low, another easy and quick way to increase your free chlorine is to simply just add some shock to your pool.
